My name is Stephanie Starch (Ms. Starch). I love hiking with my dog Yoshi, painting, and teaching science. My preferred pronouns are she/her/hers.
This is my first year teaching at AoA and my sixth year teaching in general. I teach 7th and 8th grade science.
I'm originally from Michigan and moved to the Bay Area about eight years ago. Before I became a teacher I worked as a graphic and web designer. While serving in the Peace Corps in The Gambia, West Africa, I fell in love with education and teaching.
I believe everyone is a scientist. We are born curious. In my class I want to foster that natural curiosity and help you investigate the world around you.
I love working at AoA because we are a strong community. Teachers and staff here at AoA support each other and love to collaborate. Students at AoA are engaged, passionate, and kind.
