"WE ENGAGE, INSPIRE, AND EMPOWER SOCIALLY CONSCIOUS STUDENTS"

The Academy of Alameda (CA) is a free public charter school
that provides a top education to a diverse community of students.
Classes and Academic Model
We provide a rigorous, differentiated classroom learning environment in all classes.

Each student takes the following classes:
  1. English
  2. Math
  3. Social Studies
  4. Science
  5. Physical Education
  6. Elective (Art, Music, Technology)
Academic Opportunities
To meet students’ unique learning needs,
we offer stretch opportunities, such as advanced math classes, an honors English program, and advanced elective options in technology, band, orchestra, and art.

We also offer a variety of academic supports
for students who are struggling to meet grade-level standards.  These supports include one-on-one and small group support during our advisory/tutorial period, after-school tutoring, and intervention classes in English and math.

How Social Justice is Embedded in our Program
In English and history, students learn about the danger of a single story and the importance of acquiring different perspectives. The Academy is dedicated to engaging students in questioning the past and current events so that they may witness and honor all narratives and voices.
