About Kristin Welch

Kristin Welch joined AOA’s Board of Directors in August 2021. Her daughter has attended AOA Elementary since they opened and is now in AOA Middle School and her twin boys are at AOA Elementary in 5th grade. Kristin has served as a room parent at her kids’ schools for the past 11 years and enjoys participating in school fundraising efforts - raffles, art shows, walkathons, readathons, and other school-wide events. 


Kristin has worked in financial services for the past 14 years and is currently Process Lead for Consumer Digital Operations at a large financial institution.


Kristin has volunteered for various local campaign ballot measures including the Alameda Wellness Center, which will provide recuperative care, senior housing and medical services for vulnerable homeless residents. She’s also been involved in many recent fair housing campaigns that renewed rent control requirements, the rent review board, rent stabilization, limited unfair evictions, provided sustainable rent adjustments and implemented just cause tenant protections. Kristin also volunteered in support of Measure A, the parcel tax measure that helps raise funds for all Alameda public schools ensuring that AUSD, including our charter schools, can bring employee salaries in line with the county average by assessing a $.26 per square foot annual supplemental property tax.


Kristin also serves on the Girl’s Inc. of the Island City’s Events Committee.
